When Nendel came up with the need for pet furniture for her cat, the pair ventured into the world of pet design. Why is pet furniture often ugly, overly cute or in bad taste? And by that the idea of The Pet Project was born, for in cooperation with business partner Michael Ryding the two set out to do something about it. In 2003 they started designing prototypes for dog houses and cat houses. Lene Nendel states, "The idea is to make products that both the pets will like to use and the owner likes to look at. Pet furniture by Pet Project is made from natural materials such as leather, lambs wool, steel, wood and glass. Each pet furniture product is minimalist yet has a comfortable feel and is made specially to blend in to the modern home. A percentage of all earnings are donated to cat and dog charities in the customers local area.

Eames Elephant for Kids - Design by Charles Eames from Vitra
June 17th, 2007 marked Charles Eames' 100th birthday. Vitra honored this important occasion by introducing the Eames Plywood Elephant (ALSO at http://www.accurato.com/) as a limited edition in a small number. For 2009, Vitra is introducing the Eames Elephant in five outstanding colors (in dyed polypropylene) into the regular Home collection. The Eames Elephant is considered a legend by collectors. Only two prototypes were produced in 1945, both of which were subsequently displayed in an exhibition at the New York Museum of Modern Art. Today, only one known model remains in the possession of the Eames Family. Charles and Ray Eames were fascinated by elephants. Many images of these gentle giants are found in Charles' photographic documentations of Indian culture and the circus world.

Porcupine Desk by Hella Jongerius from Vitra for Kids
As an ideal companion to the Panton Junior Chair, the Porcupine Desk provides children with a perfect place to play or draw. The small wooden table contrasts appealingly with the plastic chairs, and also asserts a distinctive identity with its asymmetrical shape. The surface features a printed motif resembling a charm bracelet, with animal shapes and other symbols and other symbols attached to a chain link circle. Some of the links in the chain are bored through the table top, so that colored markers can be stored in the holes. Add a little imagination, and the table resembles a porcupine - which was the inspiration for its name. Legs and top are made of solid hornbeam, waterbased colored lacquer with screenprint; includes a set of high quality felt tip pens.
