All Cherner seating products are now available in Classic Walnut, Natural Walnut, Natural Beech, Ebony, Stella Orange, White and Red Gum. Classic Walnut products have an oil based stain to give the chairs beech core and walnut veneer a uniform appearance. The new Natural Walnut products have a clear finish which provides for a vivid contrast between the exposed beech core and walnut face veneer.
All Cherner chair products are manufactured with attention to detail and hand assembled from woods from sustainably managed forests and 100% recyclable steel with 25% recycled content. Cherner Chair, Cherner Barstool and Cherner Table Finishes: All of the Cherner Chair and Cherner Table wood and steel components are finished with coatings that emit negligible volatile organic compounds.
Designed by Norman Cherner for Plycraft in 1958, the Cherner chair is found in design collections throughout the world, including the Vitra Design Museum. The Cherner Chair combines graceful curving bentwood arms and slender laminated legs with a one-piece molded plywood seat of tapering laminations. Produced nearly half a century ago, Norman Cherner designs are found in residences, galleries and museums across the US and abroad. Cherner designed furniture for Konweiser, Hayworth, Gunlocke, Modern Mode and Branrud.
